In 2022, Wise Platform launched with 15 new partners in 4 new markets, marking our strongest year to date. And we haven’t slowed down. We entered 2023 at breakneck speed, and in just 3 months we have achieved half as much as we did in the previous 12, even as we geared up to reveal our brand-new look.
In Q1 2023, we went live with 6 new partnerships with some of the world’s largest banks and non-banks, including Bank Mandiri, Indonesia’s largest bank by assets. We shared our predictions for 2023 in The Banker and Busy Continent, mused about how the cloud helps companies achieve their ESG goals and explained why compliance will be make or break for bank-fintech partnerships. We also spoke about what the fintech rebundling trend means for the sector and shared more about what’s next for Wise in the US market.

Meet our new partners
This was our busiest quarter yet for new partnerships. We went live with 6 new partners and have been working hard to ensure our existing partners can access even more of what Wise has to offer. See some of our highlights of the year so far below:
Globalization-Partners
In February we announced our partnership with leading Global Employment Platform Globalization-Partners. Our integration will ensure that companies using G-P’s platform have access to an efficient payment system that ensures fairness and pay transparency for all talent.

Bank Mandiri
On the 1st March, on the day Wise rebranded, we launched our first partner in Indonesia, Bank Mandiri. Bank Mandiri is the largest bank in Indonesia by assets, making this one of our biggest partnerships to date. Thanks to Wise Platform, Bank Mandiri can now provide their customers with overseas money transfer services at affordable prices from 10 currencies.

Payfare
Our partnership with Payfare is a game-changer for the gig economy. Payfare partners with leading gig platforms to provide a transparent and frictionless solution to pay their workers instantly, when and how they want.
Our partnership enhances Payfare’s existing offer and means that over one million Payfare cardholders will now have access to a secure, low-fee, fast and convenient way to send money abroad, all from the convenience of their existing platform. Read more on the blog here.

Swiss neobank neon has been our partner for almost 3 years now. Co-Founder Julius Kirscheneder spoke to Steve Naudé, Head of Wise Platform, about how “Wise has set the perfect example for a good partnership”.
We launched our partnership with Hong Kong neobank ZA Bank in Q4 2022, and we have already grown our partnership by adding additional currency routes for ZA customers. Watch this space - there’s more to come with Hong Kong’s hottest challenger bank.
We also reflected on our partnership with Brex, the corporate card and spend management solution for modern companies, and how we’re solving growing pain points for employers.

Events
March in particular was a busy month for conferences.
Wise Platform's Global Head of Implementation Prasangi Unantenne delivered a Keynote at Finovate Europe in London on “Landing Your First Banking Partner”. She shared more about what it takes to build productive, reciprocal and compliant partnerships between fintechs and banks that drive innovation for the sector and bring new products to bank customers quickly and safely.
Vice President of Wise Platform Folley Ogundele sat on a panel at the Scale Up Club CEO Summit to talk all-things: building and scaling successful teams, expanding internationally and developing business partnerships.
