What’s New in Jirav: July 2021

August 4, 2021

We added a bunch of exciting new features in Jirav in July. Our accounting partners will be especially happy to see improvements to dashboarding and reporting. We heard you loud and clear, and we’ve added more options for you to customize the look and feel of tiles and alignment on reports.
This article originated from the Xero blog. The XU Hub is an independent news and media platform - for Xero users, by Xero users. Any content, imagery and associated links below are directly from Xero and not produced by the XU Hub.

Another big improvement is to our Google Sheets integration. We’ve made it easier than ever to sync a Google Sheet with Jirav to bring in all your operational data such as website visits, leads, customers, widgets produced — and anything else you can dream of!

Here’s everything that’s new in July:

  • Enlarge Dashboard Tiles
  • Edit Page Alignment on Reports
  • New Standard Driver: Periodic Growth
  • Prorate Salaries in Start/End Month
  • Use QuickBooks Online Locations for Planning
  • Export New Custom Lines to Google Sheets

Let's dive in!

Enlarge Dashboard Tiles

Now you can enlarge a dashboard tile up to 5 columns wide and 2 rows tall. When editing a tile, head down to the Tile Width and Tile Height section. You can also Preview the title before saving.

So go ahead and feature that amazing Revenue chart with a big chart up at the top!

Edit page alignment on reports

Prefer center aligned versus left aligned? Want to mix it up in different sections of your reports?

You’ll be pleased to hear that we’ve added the ability to configure alignment for each section of a report. It’s a report-level setting that can be changed even after you publish a report.

To access the new alignment settings, use the PDF Settings button at the top right when viewing a report.

New Standard Driver: Periodic Growth

We’ve added Period Growth as a Standard Driver option, giving you the ability to model various types of periodic growth in your plans.

There are plenty of settings to play with:

  • Increase or decrease by a number or percentage value
  • Select a relative month or specific month as your start date
  • Grow a base using either actuals, a constant, or custom

Prorate Salaries in Start/End Month

From now on, Jirav will automatically prorate salaries in the Staffing module for an employee’s first and last month based on the hire and termination dates. This is turned on for new accounts. If you’re an existing customer, head over to Setup > Company to enable Prorated Salaries.

Use QuickBooks Online Locations for Planning

QuickBooks Online customers can now choose to map Locations (instead of Classes) to Jirav’s Departments.

When connecting a QBO file to Jirav that has both Locations and Classes enabled, Jirav will ask you which one you want to use. If you are only using Locations, it will automatically map them to Jirav’s Departments.

Existing Jirav and QuickBooks Online customers can switch between Locations and Classes in Setup > Departments.

Export new Custom Lines to Google Sheets

One of the best ways to get operational data into Jirav is our Google Sheets integration. Now we give you the option to decide for each Custom Line whether or not you want to allow import from a Google Sheet.

Even better, when you create a new Custom Line in Jirav, we’ll give you the option to export all your new lines to your Google Sheet, creating the new rows ready to be populated with your key non-financial metrics.

Why leave it there?
