As technology evolves, so do the methods employed by malicious actors to compromise sensitive information. At ApprovalMax, we take the security of your account seriously, which is why we are enforcing Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) by the 30th of June 2023. This additional layer of security will safeguard your ApprovalMax organisation, providing peace of mind and protecting against unauthorised access.

Why are we enforcing 2FA?

Cybersecurity threats continue to evolve, and password breaches have become increasingly common. Enforcing 2FA is a proactive measure to counter these risks and ensure the highest level of security for all ApprovalMax users. By requiring an extra verification step, even if your password is compromised, unauthorised individuals will be unable to access your account. Another reason is that a significant amount of our customer base integrates ApprovalMax with Xero, and as a Xero app it is a requirement that we enforce 2FA.

What benefits does 2FA provide?

Enhanced Security:

2FA adds an extra layer of protection to your ApprovalMax account by requiring a secondary form of authentication, typically through a mobile device or third-party app. This reduces the risk of unauthorised access, even if your password is stolen or guessed.

Mitigation of Password Vulnerabilities:

Since passwords can be vulnerable to various forms of attacks, such as phishing or brute-force attempts, 2FA significantly reduces the chances of unauthorised access.

Safeguarding Sensitive Information:

By implementing 2FA, you ensure that your ApprovalMax organisation and any sensitive data associated with it remain secure, preventing potential breaches and protecting your company’s reputation.

Compliance with Xero Requirements:

For organisations integrated with Xero, enabling 2FA is necessary to meet Xero’s security standards and compliance requirements.

Who has to set up 2FA?

All ApprovalMax users with access to organisations that connect with Xero must set up 2FA in order to continue accessing their organisation. However, even if you are using ApprovalMax with QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or Cin7Core (DEAR), we strongly recommend opting in for 2FA to further bolster your account security.

Is there an alternative to 2FA?

Yes, there is an alternative to 2FA if you use Single Sign-On (SSO) to log in to ApprovalMax. If you are already using SSO, you are not required to set up 2FA for your ApprovalMax account. However, please note that SSO providers may have their own 2FA requirements. To learn more about setting up SSO for your ApprovalMax account, refer to our Knowledge Base article on SSO setup.

At ApprovalMax, we are committed to providing the best-in-class protection for our customers. By enforcing Two-Factor Authentication, we aim to enhance the security of your ApprovalMax account and ensure that your sensitive data remains safe from unauthorised access.

Remember to set up 2FA for your ApprovalMax account by the 30th of June 2023 to continue enjoying the benefits of our platform securely.

Why leave it there?
