Currently based on the Gold Coast, Australia, Trent will be moving to and be based out of San Diego, U.S.A., by June of this year. He will design and lead the client engagement programs to support TOA’s strategic focus on helping clients succeed, and the substantial investments in technology, training, and people.

Trent will also be responsible for the global functional leadership of account management, client experience, and a thriving client community as TOA Global continues to expand and remain focused on client success.

With functional responsibility for the Client Success Channel, Trent will support TOA’s North America, Australia/New Zealand and Philippines country managers in their regional efforts involving growth, retention, and service excellence by training, mentoring and directing them and their teams.

Trent has had an explosive career in the accounting industry, leading sales, account management, and partnership teams across North America, Europe and Australia, and has gained deep knowledge of accounting firms’ challenges and how to resolve them by employing strategies for people, process and technology.

In 2017, Accountants Daily awarded him “Accounting Thought Leader Of The Year,” which recognized his contribution to and passion for helping accounting firms. He is widely known for his contributions on social media and in-person presentations at key industry events.

Trent comes to TOA Global from Practice Ignition, where he worked as Head of Accounting for the past three and a half years. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Australian Institute of Business. He will be reporting to TOA Global CEO Craig Mansell.

“As we continue to expand, we need to improve and remain focused on our clients’ success. Trent will bring in-depth knowledge and insights into how we partner best with our clients,” says Craig. “Ultimately it’s about value, the value we know that Trent will bring to our clients and TOA Global by representing the ‘Voice of the Customer’ in our strategic focus of helping clients succeed.”

Trent says he’s “beyond excited” to join TOA at a pivotal time in the business.

“Time and time again, I’ve heard from firm owners that finding and retaining top talent is a huge problem for them, both mentally and financially. This in turn has a huge impact on small business clients not getting the right advice, at the right time, due to the lack of resource and capacity available to ship work, or in most cases, providing a bare minimum service,” says Trent.

“With access to the right people and the right technology, there isn’t a good reason why small businesses should be underserved by their accountant,” adds Trent. “I’m excited to funnel my energy, knowledge, and experience into this new role and working with the global team.”
