HubSpot, the customer platform for scaling businesses, today announced the launch of its first Australian data centre, demonstrating its long-term commitment to investing in the region. The new infrastructure, located in Sydney, will enable local businesses to host their data onshore in Australia and aims to provide HubSpot customers with enhanced regional product performance, greater reliability, and improved compliance capabilities.

Customer-first investment in Australia

HubSpot’s new Australian data centre underscores its commitment to empowering businesses in the region. By hosting data locally, its growing network of customers in the region can utilise the full extent of HubSpot's unified customer platform while being better equipped to meet onshore data requirements.

“Australian businesses of all sizes need uncompromising performance, and we're investing to deliver exactly that. As AI and customer expectations reshape the competitive landscape, organisations need a customer platform they can trust. Our local infrastructure demonstrates our long-term commitment to helping businesses across the region grow better,” said Dan Bognar, Vice President and Managing Director JAPAC, HubSpot.

Enhanced product performance and reliability

Australia’s digital economy is accelerating rapidly and is projected to reach $315 billion by 2030. This trajectory presents an increasing need for stronger foundational infrastructure to support the digital transformation needs of Australian businesses. By bringing our services closer to our customers, the new data centre can help deliver faster performance, improved reliability and reduced latency. This will enable them to deliver better experiences to their customers and compete more effectively in the digital economy.

“Australia's digital economy represents a significant  opportunity, and businesses need the right foundation to capture it. Our investment in local infrastructure reflects our deep commitment to empowering Australian organisations with the tools they need to accelerate their digital transformation and unlock new possibilities,” said Bognar.

Strengthening data sovereignty for regulated industries

In an age where trust is paramount, data security and compliance are non-negotiables for many Australian businesses. This investment will provide businesses in regulated industries like finance, healthcare, and government with the confidence that they can comply with Australia’s data residency requirements.

Australian network provider, Fetch TV, will be one of the first of HubSpot’s local customers to store their data in the new data centre. Dominic Arena, CEO at Fetch TV said, "For Fetch, Australian Data Sovereignty is a key pillar of our unique value proposition to our customers - Australian family households. So the Australian data centre is an important enabler and reason for us to choose to work with HubSpot for our CRM solution."

The Australian data centre is a key component of HubSpot’s global infrastructure expansion, with two additional centres launching in the USA and Canada. You can read more here.
