I am thrilled to share that Sonia Dorais, Chaser's Chief Executive Officer has been shortlisted for the Innovator of the Year award at the Women in Credit Awards 2023.
The Women in Credit Awards are the only awards to exclusively champion women in credit and their allies. They champion the work of exceptional women and those who empower them across the credit and financial services industry. They support and uncover achievements among inspirational women in the industry.
The Innovator of the Year Award will recognise a woman who has demonstrated achievements that bring something new such as a change in process, strategy, or technology. See below why Sonia was shortlisted for this award, and view the full shortlist here.
Sonia Dorais, Innovator of the Year finalist
In June 2023 Chaser launched Chaser Pay, an embedded payments solution that lets SMEs seamlessly request and collect payments, directly from the Chaser software.
Businesses can chase payments with automated email and SMS reminders including customers’ unique Chaser Pay link.
In the Chaser Pay portal, customers can choose their preferred payment method including debit, credit, instant/open banking, Amex, and ApplePay etc.
This lets businesses
- Receive payment faster with more payment options and flexibility, including instant payments (open banking)
- Allow customers to pay easily and instantly from their PC or phone
In March 2023 Sonia also oversaw the launch of Payer Ratings, Chaser’s first Artificial Intelligence feature.
Payer ratings use data on customers’ previous payment behaviour and compare trends seen across Chaser, assigning every payer an AI-generated ‘rating’.
Ratings are ‘Good’/‘Average’/ ‘Bad’ and predict how likely a customer is to pay their future invoices on time.
This lets SMEs who are often strapped for time see at a glance how their customers are paying.
Payer ratings let SMEs prioritise effectively and instantly see who problem payers are, assess at-a-glance who to extend credit to, and optimise their follow up approach for different payer groups.
Per Sonia’s suggestions, Chaser has also released these AI features:
- Recommended chase times
- Late payment predictor
Recommended chase times analyse data on thousands of B2B payments to suggest a custom, optimal time and day to send customer payment reminders to increase the chance of payment.
This new feature uses AI to let SMEs reach customers when they’re most likely to pay, automatically.
The late payment predictor gives instant AI-generated predictions on how likely an invoice is to be paid late, assigning a percentage score out of 100. Giving visibility on whether to expect cash on time, and whether to pursue collections.
Sonia embodies the spirit of innovation and has consistently led Chaser to new horizons. Her unwavering commitment to bringing about positive change in the credit industry, and reduce the late payment problems faced by SMEs make her a deserving candidate for the Innovator of the Year award.
